Ahead of EFC Africa 15 on Friday, the Extreme Fighting Championship has released a free fight video for the MMA fans.

Leon Mynhardt vs Don Madge at EFC 13 was a bloody war, surrounded by controversy. The two lightweight stand-up specialists traded blows for the better part of three rounds. The fight was my EFC 13 fight of the night as well as the official EFC Africa fight of the night. This fight is now available to watch online courtesy of the EFC and is a must watch for all South African MMA fans.

Dallas Jakobi vs Adam Speechly EFC 10 Title fight

Reigning EFC Africa welterweight champion Dallas Jakobi and his predecessor Adam Speechly will both be involved in EFC Africa title fights in the next two months. Jakobi will defend his welterweight strap against Jadyson Costa at EFC 13 on Friday 13 April, while Speechly is slated to face lightweight kingpin Costa Ioannou at EFC 14 on 1 June.

It seems a age since the Dallas Jakobi and Adam Speechly clashed at EFC Africa 10 in a back and forward tussle which earned fight of the night and was later said to be one of the best fights in the EFC's history. Speechly was surprisingly effective on the feet and his usual dangerous self on the ground and nearly finished the fight on multiple occasions. It was however Dallas Jakobi who took top honours on the night, using effective top control and ground and pound to earn himself a unanimous decision victory and the EFC Africa welterweight title. Don Madge is slated to fight against Leon Mynhardt in a dream lightweight match-up at EFC 13. The fight will likely have its fair share of trading, as both fighters are decorated strikers. In the lead-up to this potential fight of the night, I have taken the liberty of looking through the archives to find some footage of both fighters in action. Dallas Jakobi vs Martin Van Staden

EFC 13 has set the stage for some amazing future Welterweight clashes. As it is, the event will play host to some huge fights, including a Welterweight title fight between reigning champion Dallas Jakobi and Jadyson Costa, and a number one contender bout between Martin van Staden and Michiel Opperman. In fact, 4 out of my Top 5 Welterweights in SA will be fighting at EFC 13.

The results of these fights will determine the next match-ups in the Welterweight division. One possibility is a bout between Dallas Jakobi and Martin van Staden, a rematch of their 2009 clash in which Van Staden defeated Jakobi via TKO.

Jadyson Costa MMA Highlights Video

After two fights and just over 5 minutes in the EFC Hexagon, Jadyson Costa is set to challenge Dallas Jakobi for the EFC Welterweight title. In his brief time on the South African MMA stage, Costa has shown his high BJJ pedigree by submitting both of his opponents. But what of the rest of his game?

Jadyson Costa was named "Little Wanderlei" because his fighting style resembled that of Wanderlei Silva. This is certainly not a side of Costa we have seen in the EFC Hexagon. In a bid to become further acquainted with the EFC Africa welterweight challenger, I took to Youtube and found this highlight video of Jadyson Costa's MMA career. After watching Little Wanderlei in action, I can attest that the rumours are true... he really does fight like Silva.

The video itself is not the greatest quality and is a bit repetitive at times, but it did give me a far better understanding of who will step into the cage at EFC 13 on April 13 in Cape Town.

Quantum Cup 2012 Fight Videos

Yesterday, 10 March 2012, the Quantum Tribe Grapplers Cup took place in Bruma, Johannesburg. The event drew a host of grapplers from all over the country, and featured many of South Africa's top MMA fighters. A resounding success, the Quantum Cup is doing great work promoting the sport of grappling, both with a Gi and without.

Wentzel Nel vs Costa Ioannou - EFC 08 Lightweight Title fight

At EFC Africa 08, Wentzel Nel would attempt to defend his EFC Africa lightweight title against surging contender Costa Ioannou. Nel (3-1 EFC) had lost his last non-title fight against American Dave Mazany, while Ioannou carried an impressive 2-0 EFC record into the Hexagon.

Costa Ioannou was quick to take the centre of the ring, and after a very brief exchange of punches, closed the distance and got the clinch. Wentzel Nel landed the bigger shots early in the form of punches and knees, but Ioannou worked the clinch well and landed some big elbows and knees of his own, before taking the fight to the ground. Nel managed to work his way back up to standing from a dangerous position, and the clinch once more ensued. After a brief exchange of close range shots, Ioannou managed to create some space and land a huge elbow followed by two huge knees which buckled the champion. Costa Ioannou was quick to take him to the ground and take side control. Ioannou used his position to land some shots before transitioning to full mount. Costa Ioannou then rained down punches on Wentzel Nel, forcing him to react and as he did, Ioannou sunk in a deep triangle choke. Nel was forced to tap 3 minutes into the first round, and Costa Ioannou was declared the new EFC Africa lightweight champion.
